As you are looking at the website for the ALRC Nationals at Newnham Park, I hope that you’re deciding to come along and enjoy a long weekend of competition. With the Team Recovery and RTV on Saturday, the CCV, TYRO and Bike Trial on Sunday, and Comp Safari on Monday, the weekend will be full of competition. If you are coming and are not competing in all disciplines, I would ask if you could spare the time to volunteer to marshal for those events that you are not involved with. I am looking for over 66 marshals for Saturday, 76 marshals for Sunday and 100 marshals for Monday. No previous experience is required as full training and direction will be given, so please don’t feel that inexperience will preclude you from volunteering. Rather than sitting in front of your tent/caravan/mobile home and watching the day go by, come along and join in the fun. In order to keep a record of who will be able to help, I would ask that you E-mail me with whatever you are able to help with and any preferences, i.e. be with a certain group or driver. Cornwall and Devon Land Rover Club will be running the ALRC 2010 Nationals at Newnham Park in Plympton, Devon. This is our first information bulletin. All the campers, the beer tent, food, trade stands etc. will be located in the same field. We will have a few showers for those who do not have their own. For spectators there will be 1 RTV and 1 CCV trial section within the same field, also the Team Recovery and the Start/Finish of the Comp Safari will be able to be viewed from there. The Tyro and Bike Trial will be situated no more than 100 metres from the camping field. All this will make next year's Nationals a really good place to be for all off road enthusiasts. Loved ones who have come down to Devon with their keen off road partners will find lots of other attractions if not interested in the many events. Plymouth's Hoe and Barbican, and the National Marine Aquarium are only 3 miles away. The English Riviera (Torquay,Paignton and Brixham) are within a 25 mile drive and the world famous Eden Project is only slightly further away in another direction. The site will be open for camping and scrutineering on Thursday 27th May, and there will be a FOLLOW ON RALLY up to and including Saturday 5th June so why not make it a real holiday and COME ON DOWN.
